Although history won’t remember back that far, you can imagine what the invention of the wheel must have done for our early ancestors by opening realms of opportunity in terms of farming, travel and trade.

However, the newly invented wheel on its own would be of very little use.

Yet, visionaries stepped in to adapt the wheel to other apparatuses, giving it purpose and value: Toss in another wheel, add an axle, and you’ve got a rudimentary cart. Hitch that to an animal and you’ve got locomotion. Throw in a gear and you can direct-drive more creations.

Ah, War Games—a movie ahead of its time. Produced in the early '80s, this “technology-gone-wild” thriller remains a favorite with software creators today.

The film portrays a teenage tech prodigy/hacker who unwittingly accesses a top-secret computer. The computer, code-named WOPR, models and predicts specific outcomes which it learns by the repeated play of various critical scenarios.

However, David thinks he has hacked into a particularly challenging prototype computer game. So, creative genius that he is, David cannot resist engaging in playing a few rounds with the clever computer "game."

The most immediate software customized to business needs was labelled “For Professionals” or “For Businesses.” Didn’t matter if you ran a hair salon or a fabricating shop.
